What microorganisms does the LastGerm System eliminate and protect against? Our patented technology is designed to destroy/eliminate and protect against up to 99.99% of harmful microorganisms, including the following bacteria, viruses, fungi and other: • Acinetobacter baumannii • Aspergillus Niger • Enterobacter aerogenes • Escherichia Coli (“E. coli”) • Hepatitis B • Hepatitis C • Human Immunodeficiency Virus (“HIV”) • Klebsiella pneumoniae • Legionella Pneumophila (“Legionnaires’ Disease”) • Listeria monocytogenes • Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (“MRSA”) • Murine NorovirusNorovirus • Pseudomonas Aeruginosa • Respiratory Syncytial virus (“HRSV”) • Rotavirus, Strain WA • Salmonella choleraesuis (“Salmonella”) • Staphylococcus aureus • Swine Influenza (“Swine Flu”) For a full list, See RESOURCES.

How does the antimicrobial technology work? The LastGerm System installation starts with the application of a proprietary, EPA Registered “Cleaner, Deodorizer, Disinfectant and Anti-Allergen” that eliminates up to 99.99% of germs, bacteria, viruses, fungi, mold, mildew and other harmful microbes, as well as allergens and odors. Once clean, disinfected and deodorized, surfaces are then blanketed with a patented Antimicrobial Surface Protectant, providing protection up to 90 days! Upon application, the antimicrobial agent chemically reacts with, and molecularly bonds to, the surface to which it is applied. As it dries, millions of microscopic antimicrobial “spike-like” appliances form and extend outward from the surface. These “spikes” are actually long chains of positively charged atoms. Because the cell walls of harmful microbes are negatively charged, they are drawn toward and pulled onto the positively charged antimicrobial spikes by electrostatic attraction. Destruction is instantaneous and complete as the antimicrobial spikes both rupture the microbes’ cell walls and “vaporizes” them by delivering a powerful electrostatic charge. Our shield doesn’t lose strength and the spikes are ready to dispatch the next microbe to come in contact with them.

How safe is the LastGerm System?Nothing is more important to us than your safety. It’s the driving force behind our company and products. They are EPA Registered, NSF Certified; Skin Contact Safe; Gentle enough to be used around children and pets, Environmentally Neutral and Eco-Friendly. They are also used to keep hospital operating rooms, and even surgical instruments, germ-free.

How long does LastGerm System products last?Upon application, the antimicrobial agent forms a “covalent bond” with the surface to which it is applied. In this regard, it is not really a “coating,” like paint, as its application actually results in the formation of a totally new surface, technically known as a co-polymer, which becomes an integral and permanent part of the original surface. Because this will not dissipate over time, won’t wash off, doesn’t leach or move, and is not consumed by microbes, it can last up to 90 days! For specific time details on your needed application, please contact us.
-
Is the LastGerm system effective on all of the many different materials and surfaces?Yes. Step 2 bonds to and is effective on, virtually any surface, whether it’s porous, nonporous, hard, soft, solid or fabric/upholstery. This is an important benefit as standard disinfectants are, by federal law, only approved for use on hard, non-porous surfaces.
-
Do surfaces that have been treated with the LastGerm system need to be cleaned? The LastGerm System is not a replacement for routine cleaning. It fact, routine cleaning is recommended to keep it effective, as the antimicrobial surface is very thin and too much dirt or other contaminant build-up can cover the spike like appliances and render them less effective until they are cleaned. Use our GoldShield All Purpose cleaner to make sure all of your surfaces are safely and effectively prepared for our System!
-
Will regular cleaning of a Product used by LastGerm treated surface reduce its effectiveness? No. Normal cleaning will not harm or remove the protective coating. It is, however, important to note that sanding, or scrubbing treated surfaces with abrasive cleaners, will partially remove it, requiring spot reapplication to regain effectiveness.

What is the key difference between the LastGerm System and other antimicrobials in the marketplace? The differences between the our system and ALL other antimicrobial treatments are many. However the key difference is probably the perpetual antimicrobial control our system provides as a result of Step 2, the final product applied during a LastGerm System installation. Conventional disinfectants and antimicrobials kill microorganisms by poisoning them with chemicals. Due to their toxicity, they are designed to act quickly and dissipate quickly to avoid adverse effects to humans and animals. Unfortunately, as soon as such disinfectants evaporate, so does their antimicrobial capabilities, enabling germs to return almost immediately. Like conventional antimicrobials, the LastGerm System includes an effective, immediate initial microbial kill. However, this is where the similarities end, as unlike the others, we can eliminate and control microbes perpetually. And even more uniquely, it does so through a purely physical process, without the use of any harmful chemicals, through it’s unique, patented surface modifying technology.

Do I need to continue to use my cleaning service? We work hand to hand with your cleaning regiment. For our antimicrobial to continue its effectiveness, normal cleaning of treated surfaces is necessary. Dirt, paint and dead microbes’ buildup, etc. can prohibit the antimicrobial from doing its job effectively.

What is the difference between the two products used in the LastGerm system? Our Powerful Disinfectant/Sanitizer is EPA Registered Hospital disinfectant cleaner, food surface sanitizer, mold killer, and heavy duty odor eliminator. Our product is NSF certified D2 (No Rinse Required) as a food contact surface sanitizer, and kills 99.999% of bacteria, including E. coli, Salmonella, Listeria and viruses in less than 60 seconds. Our Powerful Antimicrobial is an EPA Registered non-toxic Antimicrobial shield that forms a long-lasting covalent bond, also called a (molecular bond) to porous and non-porous surfaces. This bond lasts up to (90) days or longer, with it’s long charged carbon chain, it kills the germs, bacteria, mold, mildew, fungi and neutralizes odors 24 hours, 7 days a week.

Can the LastGerm system be used in HVAC systems?Yes! In fact, we HIGHLY recommend this as part of the process. Millions of pathogens are transmitted through our air systems every second. With the LastGerm process, not only can your touchable surfaces be treated, but also the HVAC system. The products will do the same thing - kill and protect within the duct work, causing much less transmission of bacteria, allergens and more! In fact, the Kemper Research Foundation found that by using this 2 step process, the air quality of tested facilities increased by 87%!

Is this product/service expensive and time consuming? Our Antimicrobial Treatments are very Economical, just Pennies per square ft. Our team of experts can provide you with a FREE estimate and testing to show the incredible changes in bacterial count from when we arrive to after the application. You will be incredibly surprised to see how dirty your surfaces really are!
