Back to school blues

It is hard to believe that school is back in session. It's back to early to bed and early to rise for children and parents all over the world. While many of us parents were already getting up early, now we have the joy of getting the kiddos up and at 'em!

My granddaughter used to ride the school bus, but when school started in session classes again last year, we opted to transport her to school ourselves. We decided to keep doing that as she and the girls we carpool with really seem to enjoy it.

Hundreds of thousands of children will be riding the school bus, however.

With that in mind, let's remember to exercise caution and watch out for school buses and, of course, children crossing the streets and not always at the crosswalks!

As diligent as we can be in keeping our children safe, there is always more we can do to give them the best defenses in this sometimes scary world.

While we can't be with our children 24 hours a day, we can equip them with some tools that will help keep them safer throughout the day.

Kids are dirt and germ magnets

It doesn't seem to matter how often you wash their hands and faces, kids are dirt and germ magnets.

Because of that, I send a 1.7-ounce bottle of BioProtect hand sanitizer with my granddaughter when she goes to school. Recess can be hard on a kid! There are all sorts of things out on the playground and you don't always have a stick to poke at something. Sometimes you have to use your hands!

That is why I am glad she uses this hand sanitizer. It lasts up to six hours and kills 99.99% of germs and bacteria on her hands.

It is also a hydrating formula infused with aloe vera. Since she is into fashion and makeup and all things "girlie" she loves the BioProtect hydrating hand sanitizer because it makes her hands soft.

I like it because I know she is protected from a host of potentially harmful bacteria and germs.

Look at these facts about BioProtect hydrating hand sanitizer:

  • BIOPROTECT™ Hydrating Hand Sanitizer is an FDA-registered hand sanitizer that kills 99.99% of germs and bacteria on your hands for up to 6 hours!

  • Moisturizes and hydrates hands as it kills germs and bacteria.

  • Infused with soothing aloe vera.

  • Fragrance-free, dye-free, paraben-free, and sulfate-free.

Germs are all around us, from door handles to airplane trays, to your children’s toys. The most important thing you can do to protect yourself, your family, and your colleagues from getting sick is to keep your hands clean!

Most kids don't care about being clean, but they do care about not feeling sick. This is an easy way to help them not get sick and still gives them the freedom to have a lot of fun getting dirty!

You can feel safer as a parent or guardian knowing that when the kids are on the bus or at school, they are protected.

Kids are always getting scrapes and cuts

From wipeouts on their bikes or skateboards

to scratches from their adventures in the woods, you name it, kids will find a way to get scraped up.

I am in love with Pure&Clean's First Aid Spray and Hydrogel. Those are two of my favorite products for treating almost any cut or scrape that my granddaughter can get.

She likes trying new things like hoverboarding, skateboarding, riding a bicycle, and all sorts of potentially dangerous activities. She recently got a BB gun and wants to learn to shoot it. That has its own set of dangers!

When it comes to "regular" injuries, however, kids have it down-pat on how to get them! Scraped knees and elbows and the like. My granddaughter has a tendency to get a lot of scratches from our dog and cats.

Whenever she gets a cut or scrape or bug bite or sunburn, I pull out the hydrogel! I have never seen a product work so quickly at taking the sting out of a scrape or bite or scratch.

Check out this link to see all of the great uses for Hydrogel!

You may have questioned why I used the term back-to-school blues for the title of this post, but if you look at these products, they have blue labels. A great way to remember that not all back-to-school "blues" are sad!
